The panelists present at the adda were, Mr. Debasish Dutta, Mr. Boria Majumdar, Mr. Rupak Saha, Mr. Ratul Ghosh, Mr. Dipendu Biswas, Mr. S S Dasgupta, Mr. Subhash Bhowmick, Mr. Amritangshu Bhattacharya, Mr. Utpal Ganguly and Mr G C Das. Mr Rupak Saha as a senior journalist stated his experiences, and at the same time spoke of the notoriety of Luis Suarez. Renowned football manager, Subhash Bhowmik, too, agreed with Mr Saha. 77-years old, a doyen of sports journalism, Mr. G. C. Das, wearing the German jersey stated that, “Germany is still a favourite.” Mr. Dipendu Biswas, who had just returned from Brazil, said that, “Unlike in Brazil, there were no such supporters in India who could scream their lungs out for the Indian team.” Narrating stories from the World Cup, Mr. Amritangshu Bhattacharya said, “I believe, one day, India will participate in the Football World Cup.” Present in the session was IFA Secretary, Mr. Utpal Ganguly, who said, “FIFA took stern steps to take care of the Suarez issue”. Mr. Debashish Dutta narrated the stories of his meetings with the two football legends, Maradona and Pele.
The entire event was coordinated by Mr. Boria Majumdar and Mr. Debasihs Dutta. The discussion session was followed by a question-answer round. The event was an absolutely fun-filled and a greatly enriching experience with more than 100 attending football-lovers. The event was well covered by the electronic media and by Big FM.
