The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), partnering the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT, Kharagpur), organized a two-day “Workshop on Operational Excellence” on 8th-9th August 2014 in the Chamber premises. The workshop was conducted by eminent faculty members from IIT, Kharagpur.

The objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with the concepts, fundamental principles and key tools and techniques of Operational Excellence and how industry could adopt and implement / execute this practice in their respective functional domains for overall improvement in productivity, quality of products and services and operational efficiency.

Dr. Jitesh J. Thakkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur; Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Professor & Head, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Prof. Biswajit Mahanty, Professor, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur were the faculty members. Besides, the Chamber was represented by Mr. S Swaminathan, Co-Chairperson, MSME Development and Manufacturing Committee, BCC&I and Mr. P N Gupta, a senior member of the MSME Development and Manufacturing Committee, BCC&I.
