- An Incisive Analysis of Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20, 4th May 2015, Chamber Premises

The new five-year Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, announced on 1st April 2015, by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India is a pragmatic and futuristic guideline which would impact the country’s International Trade till 2020.
The announcement of a new Foreign Trade Policy for a period of five years is a step towards increasing the volume of foreign trade. It takes an integrated view of the overall development of India’s foreign trade and provides a roadmap for the development of the sectors having prospects for export expansion and potential for employment generation.
The policy sets out the core objectives, identifies key strategies, spells out focus initiatives, outlines export incentives, and also addresses the issue of simplification of procedures relating to export activities and providing full refund of all indirect taxes and levies.
With a view to carefully analyzing the provisions of the Policy & Handbook, The Bengal Chamber, in association with CAPEXIL, organized a full day programme on 4th May, 2015. It was an initiative to create awareness on the New Trade Policy amongst MSMEs & small traders other than large corporate houses.
The programme witnessed the presence of Mr. C R Bhattacharjee, Chairman (ER), CAPEXIL; Mr. Gudakesh Kumar, Manager, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Ltd.; Mr. Sudhakar Kasture, Director of Helpline Impex Pvt. Ltd. and EXIM Institute, Mumbai and Mr. Sanjeev Nandwani, Additional Director General, DGFT, Kolkata in the inaugural session. Mr. Sanjeev Nandwani graced the occasion as the Chief Guest in the inaugural Session which was followed by sessions for thorough analysis of the new Trade Policy by Mr. Sudhakar Kasture.
