- Roundtable - Need for collaboration in IT Business - Managing Global Competition, 6th February 2015, Chamber premises

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organized a Roundtable on “Need for collaboration in IT Business – Managing Global Competition”. This was the platform for launching a business focused IT Committee for mid-scale IT Companies, also known as “Friends of IT” (FIT). The programme was held on 6th February 2015 at the ITC Room of The Bengal Chamber. The objective of the new committee “Friends of IT” (FIT) is to undertake initiatives for branding of mid-scale IT companies of West Bengal and to focus on activities which would directly help them in developing their businesses.
Those present included Mr. Abhishek Rungta (Founder and CEO, Indus Net Technologies) and Chairman, FIT Committee; Mr. Nirupam Chaudhuri (Regional Head – East, NASSCOM); Mr. Abhijit Hazra (Founder & MD - Touchstone Tie-up Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Kumar Shivam (Head – Strategy and Business Development, BCC&I). Some of the other IT entrepreneurs present included Mr. Akash Arora (AVP – Management and Computer Consultants), Mr. Pratip Biswas (Founder & Director – Unified Infotech Private Limited), Mr. Arup Chakroborty (Chief Information Officer – Protech Infosystems Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Abhishek Chamaria (Head Operations and Social Media Strategist – Brainwave Applications), Mr. Arun Agrawal (Ebizindia Consulting Private Limited) and many more.
This hands-on session included a Q/A segment addressing the following points :
• To explore projects in the international market by collaborating with respective commerce bodies overseas and sending delegations to potential overseas markets for B2B meets.
• To explore opportunities in outsourcing projects from big IT firms in India by arranging focused business meets with big IT companies all over India.
• To explore IT needs and opportunities across targeted industry verticals pan India.
• To undertake branding and promote the collaborating IT companies represented in the Committee to potential customers all over India by preparing focused brochures and circulating it to companies in India.
• To organize business/sales focused seminars and meets.
It was a most successful session and based on the discussions at the meeting, initiatives are being planned to realize the objectives of FIT.
