• Supporting Unitus Seed Fund Roadshow in Kolkata with TiE Kolkata on 30th April 2014, Chamber premises

TiE Kolkata in association with Bengal Chamber Entrepreneurship Development Cell and TotalStart organized "Unitus Seed Fund Roadshow in Kolkata" from 1800 to 2000 hrs on 30th April 2014 at the Telegraph Room in the Chamber premises.

Unitus Seed Fund is the country's most acclaimed seed stage active investor who took up the commitment to invest Rs 7 crore in the best 5 social impact startups across six cities from April - July 2014. Their Kolkata trip was from 28th April to 2nd May.

Dr. Suryanil Ghosh, Hony. Secretary, TiE Kolkata, Chairman of Bengal Chamber Entrepreneurship Development Cell and also Chairman of the Board, TotalStart delivered the welcome address and introduced Mr. Srikrishna Ramamoorthy, one of the investing partners of Unitus Seed Fund with the entrepreneurs present at the occasion.

Mr. Srikrishna Ramamoorthy, was representing the company along with his colleague Mr. Amiya Adwitiya who came to Kolkata to meet the emerging entrepreneurs and kept the delegates enthralled through a PowerPoint presentation showcasing his success stories as an investor in several startups across various sectors, namely education, a chain of pre schools in villages, realty, health amongst many others throughout the country. Unitus Seed Fund recently launched partnerships with multiple startup-friendly professional services firms who were eager to offer their services to startups across India.

A lot of emerging entrepreneurs from Kolkata and adjoining places took active interest in participating and contributing to the discussion at the interactive evening. The entrepreneurs included active members of TiE Kolkata, few startup companies and entrepreneurs at the stage of conceptualization and scaling up stage.

Following the PowerPoint presentation, there was a one-on-one networking and interaction between Unitus Seed Fund resource persons on one hand and the interested entrepreneurs to avail the funding opportunity for their respective ventures on the other over high tea. Unitus Seed Fund representatives felt the pulse of the local entrepreneurs with the ultimate mission to explore opportunity of funding their ventures depending on the viability and return on investment. The interaction at one-on-one level marked the beginning of the long term relationship between India's most active seed stage investor and the entrepreneurial community as a whole thus strengthening the entrepreneurial eco system in Kolkata.
